Custom Screen-printed Labels

Custom screen-printed labels are all the rage at the moment! Excellent for designers and fashion shops selling their own brand! Slowly but surely people are choosing to take out the classic polyamide label that manufacturers put in and print their own screen-printed personalised labels, for a much more comfortable choice!

Custom screen-printed labels

From the two services for customised labels that we offer, the majority of our clients strongly prefer the screen-printed option not only for comfort but also for the fantastic quality offered. The process includes removing the manufacturer’s white polyamide label and re-sewing the collar. Then the client’s design is printed on to the area at a maximum of 9x9cm (approx. 3.5″).

One thing to consider, when choosing the T-shirt from our online catalogue that you wish to use, is that if you are planning on using a lightweight, white or light-coloured T-shirt, a dark-coloured ink can show through to the other side of the T-shirt and ruin the professional style, as you can see here in this example:

Printed labels

We recommend a grey colour for your screen-printed labels which usually stands out both on light and dark-coloured clothing allowing for the perfect final touch to your customised T-shirts. Another option would be a gold or silver colour which as you can see here is eye-catching without being visible from the other side.

Customised labels

We can add all of the information you wish as well as your own design or logo. Some clients choose only to print their design with the size of each T-shirt below; others decide to add the washing instructions or the composition of the T-shirt for a more complete label.

Screen-printed labels

Remember: We must charge a technical cost for each size and due to this, there is a minimum of 10 items per size with this technique.

Personalised labels are the perfect way to compliment your custom tees, especially ideal for t-shirts for designers. This little detail goes a long way!

35 years for Phoenix Teefactory

This week we were very happy to celebrate 35 years for Phoenix Teefactory, the company behind tshirts-uk.com and various international webs. We’ve been dominating the textile personalisation sector within Europe since 1981!

All the staff were delighted to meet up in our textile personalisation workshop, to spend the morning learning about the various techniques and methods our team uses. We always take advantage of any opportunities to improve and grow as a company, asking our collegues questions and explaining how we work, getting to know one-another and generally getting the gist of how your personalised clothing orders are created step by step. Which is exactly what this day allowed us to do! 😉

Staff

So, throughout the morning, our sales team, graphic designers, IT guys, social media and content gals, accountants and general admin team were asking our collegues in the workshop questions and explaining how we work, getting to know one-another and generally getting the gist of how your personalised clothing orders are created step by step. 😉

We learnt about each step of the process with the experts themselves:

As it’s our star technique we began with screen-printing: learning the tricks of the trade from Phoenix’s experts: how each screen and film is fitted together, which screens are used for which types of designs and garments, how every small detail is crucial when mounting the designs on the screens to avoid mistakes when printing and the cleaning and recycling process.

Screen-printing workshop

Step 2 in the process took us to our expert in textile inks who gave us a master class on colours, qualities, mixes and Pantone. The reality of the matter is that our team was able to see how much of a real traditional, artisanal process screen-printing remains to this day, despite the help of new technology in some areas.

The most impressive area of the workshop is undoubtedly our screen-printing “octopus” machines, duly named for the 8 arms of the beast which allows our collegues to work rapidly whilst maintaining high quality standards and allows us to offer you a quick turnaround time for your custom T-shirts.

We were also fortunate enough to see the new Kornit Avalanche machine up and running: the very latest in Direct To Garment digital printing. Not to mention seeing in action our collegues creating fantastic personalised garments using the other techniques we offer: sublimation, digital transfer, CAD-cut vinyl etc.

Lastly but certainly not least, we learnt about the importance of a well-stocked, well-organised warehouse by our resident Phoenix professional, Alex, who taught us how your custom clothing orders get processed once we’ve sent them through to our factory, from receiving the merchandise to the organisation and finally the handing-off to the delivery companies. It’s crucial that the running of the warehouse is managed smoothly in order to allow for fast and quality work.

Custom t-shirts

And finally, after our training, it was time for a break to give our bosses, the founders of Phoenix Teefactory: Ángel Fernandez and Baltasar Collado, a little, well-earned surprise: personalised T-shirts for each as a momentum of their successful 35 years in the business, conmemorative printed mugs and the icing on the cake, or in this case cookies, personalised T-shirt-shaped biscuits with the names of all the team.

So, all in all, it was a great day spent getting to know one another better, team building, improving our work ethic and of course celebrating! Just taking a look at the photos you can see how much our team enjoyed the day and just how much we all like to pose! 😛

Renovations in our Madrid and our workshop!

Not long ago last year we wrote about our fantastic showroom make-over in Barcelona and now we’ve been hard at work to start this new year with 2 new renovations in our Madrid showroom and our workshop.

After updating our Barcelona showroom, we felt bad leaving the Madrid team stuck in the 80s, so off we went to create a new modern store for our Madrid clients.

Take a look at the before and after photos, where it’s obvious to see why we’re so happy with the result:

The fantastic final results.
The fantastic final results.

Spacial redistribution, lively and well-lit decor with new graphics… but the same friendly and professional service we always offer.

As if this task wasn’t epic enough, we then decided to renew our textile printing workshop in Argentona, Barcelona.

A while back we got round to a little feng-shui in the workshop, moving some of the machines around to create more space, optimising work areas and improving employee comfort so those same employees are happy and focused when it comes to printing your personalised T-shirts.

But we didn’t feel that that was enough… so our design department produced some fantastic wall decorations to brighten up the workshop.

Environmentally-Friendly T-shirts

This week we’ve decided to bring to you a little more information on how we work and our practises when creating your environmentally-friendly personalised t-shirts.

Our Spanish sister site camisetas.info was featured on the spanish channel RTVE’s programme “Aquí hay trabajo” (There’s work here) due to our workshop’s sustainable working methods.

In this documentary-style interview, we had the opportunity to talk about our different efforts regarding our recycling program and our various eco-friendly schemes:

  • Filtering all liquids, later to be collected and treated by the British company Safety Kleen Europe
  • Recycling all our screens
  • Using Phthalate-free paints
  • Taking advantage of the Catalan ‘Foment del Reciclatge’ plan and recycling all our plastic and cardboard materials
  • Finally, we have an agreement with a German company who collect and recycle our used cleaning rags

Respecting the Environment

Each year we dedicate 12.000€ to our correct wastage programme. A great sacrifice bearing in mind the current precarious financial situation in Europe and in comparison with our competition.

We’re very proud of our ethical attitude towards the environment and our various ways of contributing to a sustainable sector so that you can always get the best product at the best price and keep a clean conscience due to all our eco-friendly efforts.
