Screen printing with halftones can reproduce complex designs, usually very detailed or even photographic illustrations that would be impossible to achieve with traditional screen printing.
Halftones are used to simulate different colour gradients: it consists of small dots of different sizes that combined to create the illusion of a gradient on screen printed tees. Larger dots are used to represent dark areas of the design, while smaller dots are used for lighter areas.
That’s how halftones allow to create t-shirts with illustrations or photos, getting a shady effect and full of details, as in the example that we show you here:
For printing these personalised t-shirts, our client has sent us his design already prepared and ready for printing with halftones. But if it is necessary to create halftones on your design in order to get the best printing results, and you do not know how to do it, our graphic team will help you.
1978 Records label wanted to customise t-shirts online for promoting the new album release by Danger band. The design is simply spectacular!

Normally, to print photos on tees, we would recommend other printing techniques such as DTG, quadritrans transfer or Full Print. However, the cheapest method is nearly always screen-printing even with the different prices charged for pattern screen-printing.
